Recreation Soccer

Recreation Soccer is soccer program that is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a life long love of the game.

U4

Our program is structured and designed specifically for the young player. The philosophy of our program can be summed up in one word- FUN! We have created a safe and positive environment where kids can learn the game of soccer through playful training techniques and team bonding activities. Working with GYSA we have designed a program that encompasses the use of "small-sided games"and age-appropriate training. The combination of these methods will be the foundation to good habits with the ball, leading to mastery of skills.

U6

The U6 game is designed to maximize the amount of play and "touches" each child gets. Players are encouraged to dribble the ball and not necessarily to pass it. All fouls result in Indirect Kicks. It's a teaching game and, as much, everyone wins.

U8

The U8 game differs from the U6 game in several significant ways. First, referees control the games and coaches stay off the field. Second, this is when both positional play and passing are first introduced. Third, some fouls may result in a Direct Free Kick.

U10

The U10 soccer game is similar to the U8 game with some exceptions: more players are introduced onto the field, which encourages more passing; and, the Offside rule comes into effect. The ball size moves to size 4 and Goal Keepers are introduced.
